Service Planning Manager

Position Overview
Researches and develops strategic operational plans associated with the dispatching and scheduling of technicians for residential or commercial lawn services. Provides input to senior managers in the development of service planning policies and procedures. Analyzes service planning metrics in light of service planning goals and objectives. Presents results at the region, division or company-level. Works on continuous improvement projects in the service planning arena. Travels approximately 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall management of the service planning function. Accomplishes results through lower-level subordinate supervisors.
Develops policies and procedures to achieve service planning forecasts. Develops solutions to complex problems ensuring consistency with organization objectives.
Determines, monitors, and recommends adjustments to customer service delivery schedules to ensure consistency with the master service planning / production schedules.
Provides input into the service planning function through budget preparation, expenditure recommendation, and personnel forecasting. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Identifies and plans positive improvements to routing and scheduling programs and other activities related to service planning.
Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates. Conducts briefings and participates in meetings for internal and external representatives concerning service planning activities.
Evaluates staff performance, makes salary recommendations and administers disciplinary actions consistent with company policy.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors Degree and generally 5+ years of experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Three (3) years supervisory management experience required.
Certificates, licenses and registrations as required by federal and state law.
Masters Degree preferred.
Two (2) years experience with routing and scheduling software and/or operating system preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Possess and applies knowledge of management skills in the completion of ongoing tasks & projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of leadership and with front line.

Basic understanding of the internet, e-mail processes, software applications (such as MS Word, Outlook).
Proficient knowledge & skill in MS Excel software. Strong knowledge of ServiceMaster’s operating systems and TruGreen’s branch service department as it relates to resources, territory structure, advanced planning of recurring services and schedule availability for unplanned demand.
Ability to interpret business goals and initiatives and apply practical solutions to ensure the goals are reached—particularly in situations where only limited standardization exists.
